in Key Biscayne, Florida.

Founded in 1950, the College is an invitation-only organization that invites

and Canada. Attorneys are admitted after a careful, multi-step investigation
and rigorous selection process.

Selection criteria include:

  • Minimum of 15 years of trial experience
  • Professional careers marked by the highest standards of professionalism,
    ethical conduct, civility, and collegiality
  • Mastery of the art of trial advocacy

Membership in the College is limited to less than 1% of the total lawyer
population of any state or province. Currently, there are approximately
5,860 members in the United States and Canada, including active Fellows,
Emeritus Fellows, Judicial Fellows (those who ascended to the bench after
their induction) and Honorary Fellows.

The College strives to elevate and enhance the standards of trial practice,
the administration of ethics and justice of the trial profession. Qualifying
attorneys from all branches of trial practice are considered, including
plaintiffs lawyers and those who represent defendants in civil cases,
and those who prosecute and defend individuals accused of criminal offenses.
The College is thus able to maintain a balanced view regarding many important
issues concerning the legal profession.
